SPI has the ability to produce flat plate developments from the surface data in the bridge designs. Working 100% within Autodesk SPI SheetMetal provides the designer with all the tools required. With a cost estimation included the total process can be controlled. Bennet decided to purchase SPI because of its ability to unfold free forms. The decision needed a single day - from the first demo to time of order.

SPI SheetMetal helps in the design of Millennium Bridges...

Specialist Engineers, Bennett Associates of Rotherham have selected SPI SheetMetal Software for the design of their millennium bridges

The decision to implement this software solution was driven by a need to reduce design cycle time, and a desire to make a world-class, industry-specific product composed primarily of sheet metal. No other design software on the market could leverage Cart America’s existing investment in AutoCAD® and address exacting, real-world sheet metal designs. In nine months, Cart America successfully developed and manufactured five prototypes that are already on their way to market.

Creating buckets of money...

Headquartered in Fullerton, California, Cart America designs and manufactures a family of carts used by the international casino and hospitality industry to move and store money.

Since 1958, Baxter has manufactured a variety of equipment for supermarket and food service national chains in the U.S. industry as well as many foreign markets. As large amounts of our products are made from sheet metal, the productivity of our engineering and drafting departments has and will continue to improve with the use of these software packages. ( Jack Pennypacker, IS Manager for Baxter Manufacturing)

Hot designs for Baxter's ovens...

SPI’s software’s highly advanced, parametric sheet metal functionality is ideal for Baxter Manufacturing’s engineering processes.

Schweitzer creates displays for non-food articles and various types of equipment for stores. Schweitzer ran intensive benchmarks against the competitors, resulting in a win for SPI Sheetmetal. A key point was SPI's easy-to-use set of parametric features fully integrated with Mechanical Desktop. With this solution, once Schweitzer has created the sheet metal displays, the sizes, type, and thickness of the material can be modified in a second.

Designing department stores...

Schweizer Engineering of Milano is a group with seven subsidiaries in Italy. The company is market leader in the design of big department stores.

Welgro's project was to build a customizable bulk truck fully constrained in Autodesk software: 1,200 local parameters, controlled by 250 global parameters. Customer request include a total length of up to 18m; a total weight of up to 32 tons; up to nine compartments with different capacities; and full aluminum design, including many very complicated sheet metal solids such as cones with cutouts. Welgro tested the SPI - SheetMetal solution, - and started the project.

32 tons bulk truck completly redesigned...

Welgro BV, based in Groenlo, The Netherlands, manufactures about 100 bulk trucks each year.

The project was replacement of elder software and investment in an up-to-date CAD solution. Complex benchmarks were run comparing several systems. The solution with SPI SheetMetal ranked at the top. Visits to SPI reference customers led to an initial order of three seats. A key point for the decision was the perfect integration of the SPI products into the basic system.

Heaven could'nt wait...

Mecaplex AG, in Grenichen, Switzerland, is one of the leading high-tech companies in Switzerland. Mecaplex is the exclusive manufacturer of the rudder unit of the F-18-fighter.

It will only take you about two days to gain full control of the software. I believe that this is the best investment that we have ever made. It's very time-saving to design and unfold sheet metal with SPI. A project that took us a week to finish before now only takes one day. For instance it only took me about some minutes to unfold a staircase with SPI after I designed it. I think, it would have taken me few days to do it without it. (Júlíus Gunnlaugsson from Istal, Iceland).
